Giving Back to the Charlotte Community with a Song in Her Heart
A Realtor’s job is more than selling houses. It is about building stronger communities. For Kathy Smith, that means giving back through music, service, and programs that change lives.
Music & BandMom Legacy

Kathy has been a lifelong flutist and singer in Charlotte ensembles. After losing her mother in 2021, she and fellow Charlotte Pride Band members created the BandMom Legacy, a tribute project that donated instruments to local schools. In its inaugural season, James Martin Middle School received flutes, clarinets, a trumpet, and a trombone so more students could play music.

Performing in Charlotte & Beyond
From playing with the Charlotte Pride Band to singing in choirs throughout the city, Kathy brings joy to audiences and supports the arts. During the pandemic, she helped keep Carolina Voices connected through livestreams and creative fundraising. Her dedication was honored when she was named the Angel in the 67th Annual Singing Christmas Tree.

Kathy’s performances also took her to Lincoln Center in New York City, where she joined an international chorus in Tyler’s Suite, a groundbreaking work raising awareness against bullying. “Performing to support such an important cause was a dream come true,” she recalls.

Realtors Care Day & Local Service
Kathy regularly joins fellow Realtors in service projects such as Realtors Care Day, where volunteers repair and improve homes for neighbors in need. She believes helping others is not just part of her profession, it is part of her purpose.
Free Dog with Every Home Sold
